I have been where you are right now, considering if talking to someone outside your circle will help.

Maybe hearing a bit more about me will be useful to you.

I’m warm, sincere, friendly and a big fan of my own company. I like to think deeply, wear stripes, knit and drink coffee from one of two mugs at home.

My work is the culmination of helping others (something I’ve always been drawn to do) and putting into practice the lessons from my own experience…

I first sought therapy when I was knee-deep in motherhood and found myself in a perpetual state of “it’ll be easier when…”, but also grappling with the uncomfortable truth that there are no do-overs in life and holding out for an unknown point in the future was costing me too much in my present.

My family is neurodiverse and knowing this has massively impacted my worldview. For the better, I should add. I have a deep interest in how we are shaped by our lived experiences, how we relate to others and how our nervous system activates in response. I believe our mental and physical health are deeply entwined and that what is seen on the outside can be vastly different to what is felt on the inside.

Therapy can genuinely change your life. It changed mine.

Over time, and with support, I’ve learned how to say unspoken things out loud to discover which parts of me need my attention so I can tend to them accordingly. I want you to know that it hasn’t always been easy - at times it’s been scary - but it is undoubtedly the most valuable thing I’ve invested time and effort in.

You should also know these things about me…

  • I’m not an award-winning author or host of a huge membership - my practice is highly personal to you and therapy sessions are on a 1:1 basis with me

  • What you see is a 40-something-therapist-wife-mother…what you get when I sit with you, is empathy and support from someone navigating neurodiverse family life, who also faces invisible social and familial systemic challenges

  • I wholeheartedly believe the client-therapist relationship is the most crucial element of therapeutic work and is the foundation for positive change to be experienced outside of the therapy room

  • I’m a fully-qualified Integrative Therapist and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP).

  • My practice is neuro-affirming and trauma-informed

  • I adhere to the ethical and professional codes of the BACP, including their ongoing requirements for ongoing Supervision and Continued Professional Development (CPD)
